Playing on the beach with buckets and spades is not just for children!

Swanage Carnival has not one but two sand castle, or to give it its grand title "Sand Sculpture" competitions on the main beach during Carnival week. Adults Wedbesday, Juniors Thursday.

We have a children's competition where the children can work singly or in pairs to make a sculpture of their own design. decorated with natural objects found on the beach.
There are two categories, 5-8 years and 9-12 years.

In the evening there is the chance for the adults to show off their skills and to use their long lost childhood imgination to build their own creation out of the sand.

Only buckets and spades allowed, no tractors or mechanised diggers allowed!
