The 2007

Carnival Queen, Hannah Foster, travelled to Disneyland in Paris to represent
Swanage in the UK Carnival Queen competition making Swanage Carnival history as
being the first queen from the town to attend this event.
Eighteen girls, including Hannah took part and were presented with special sashes
which they wore at all times that they were in public.
This sash will be seen during
the Carnival Parade.
The first night was spent at the Wild West Show, which was enjoyed by everyone with
one of the Queens being chosen to take part in the show.
The second day was spent with the girls enjoying the Parks with 9 girls taking part
in the Disney Parade in the Studios on a float with Mickey Mouse with optional trips
into Paris during the evening.
The third day was having numerous photos taken round the parks and other locations
in the complex, the remainder of the day spent in the parks with the remaining 9
girls taking part in the Disney parade.
The evening was spent at Ludwigs Castle for the Grand Finale of the UK Carnival
Queen where the girls had to dress in their carnival dresses.
The judges had been out and about in the parks during our stay w

atching the girls
but their identity

was a closely guarded secret so the girls behaved natuarally.
The overall winner was Jen Wastell from Nuneaton with Lauren Grant from Bishopstoke
as Maid of Honour.
Hannah said that she was not disappointed that she didn't win because the highlight
of her trip was taking part in the Disney Parade and she had made 17 new friends
who she was still in touch with and that she just had a brilliant time.
